Q:

Please confirm that the pictures on the DVD can be uploaded onto Picassa or similar. Also, how does the on-line viewing work? If someone remotely views, can they copy their own prints or do they have to purchase from you? Thanks. cs

Carol S.  asked on  Nov 24, 2012

A:

Carol - Yes, you can upload the images to Picassa from the DVD we provide. We also will provide you a free gallery with the images. If you view the images remotely they can copy the files, we do not force you to purchase anything from us. Thanks for your interest in our offer and please let us know if you have other questions. Happy Holidays!

Q:

To clarify the offer. If I purchased the $115.00 option which would give me $300.00 worth of services, I could convert 450 slides to a DVD. Can I get extra copies of the DVD or do I make them myself?

Valerie K.  asked on  Nov 24, 2012

A:

Valerie - The $300 voucher would cover approximately 450 slides. You can make copies of the disc yourself or purchase one from us at a cost of $10. Thanks for your interest in our offer and please let us know if you have other questions. Happy Holidays!

Q:

I have those small camcorder tapes. I know you can convert them, but do I need to include the VCR tape adapter thing? You know the thing you put them in so they can be played in the VCR? I am assuming your company already has an adapter, but I didn't know if different tapes use different adapters. Does this make sense? Do you know what I mean? Also how many tapes can you get to fit on one DVD? Thanks! Would love this deal as I have just rediscovered some of our family's old camcorder tapes.

Maria  asked on  Nov 23, 2012

A:

Maria - no need to include the adapter, we have adapters that we use here. All tapes are transferred directly to DVD so you'll receive one DVD for each tape you send us. Thanks for your interest in ScanDigital and please let us know if you have other questions!

Q:

Hi. We have old 8 mm film reels that are 35-50 years old. They have been stored in a dry place and still work with the projector. Can you transfer these? Also, my husband was wondering if it is possible to add background music to the transfer. Thanks!

Yvonne B.  asked on  Nov 23, 2012

A:

Yvonne - We can definitely transfer those for you and they're covered with this deal. We, unfortunately, cannot add background music to these though. Thanks for your interest in ScanDigital and please let us know if you have other questions!

Q:

How many 8 mm reel to reel films would be covered in the 300.00 deal? Also, would I be able to make additional copies of the DVDs you make?

Kristine G.  asked on  Nov 23, 2012

A:

Kristine - The $300 option covers 18 3" reels (or about 900 feet). You are able to make copies of the DVDs or you can purchase them from us at a cost of $12.95. Thanks for your interest in ScanDigital and please let us know if you have other questions!

Q:

Thanks again for the quick response, but your answer about the extra time led to another question. You said that if a tape was longer than 2 hours, it would go on two discs and be charged for 2 discs, which makes sense for a transfer to DVD. But if I provide a hard drive and cables and request a transfer to hard drive, do I still get DVDs, or am I simply charged at the DVD rate for the transfer to my hard drive?

Lois N.  asked on  Nov 22, 2012

A:

Lois - You will receive DVDs with your completed order, even if you order a hard drive transfer. Don't hesitate to post if any other questions come up.

Koa N.  from  Merchant  replied on  Nov 22, 2012

Q:

Thanks for the clarification about transferring to hard drive so they can be edited. It wasn't clear from your site, which seemed to indicate that a transfer to hard drive was more expensive than to DVD. I have 10 tapes (found one more). If I use two $100 groupons, which would cover them, what happens if some are over 2 hours long? What are the extra charges if that happens? And can I send my own hard drive to you with the tapes? Thanks, and Happy Thanksgiving to you, too..

Lois N.  asked on  Nov 22, 2012

A:

Hi Lois - If you have any tapes that are longer than 2 hours, the footage will be transferred to multiple discs and be charged as multiple tape transfers. For example, a 4 hour tape would go on 2 discs and be charged $19.95 twice. We are happy to use your hard drive, but please include all necessary cables. We reformat your drive when connecting it to our system, so please make sure you have a backup of any files on it. Happy Thanksgiving!

Q:

if i submit bulk order i.e. a photo album w/50 sheets and 12 pics on each sheet....is there any additional discount for volume...but as important....can i ship them in the albums and will the pics be put back into their respective places in the album...or is the scan done of the entire page that is plastic..... 6 per side....

daniel f.  asked on  Nov 22, 2012

A:

Daniel - we will take the albums, remove the images, scan them and return them to the album so that you receive the originals back in place. Our bulk pricing options start at 1000 images. On our site we have bulk discount packages for photo albums at a price of $580 (which is already discounted) and we allow one $100 groupon to be applied - this equates to nearly 30% savings. Happy Thanksgiving and please let us know if you have other questions!
