Q:

can the Groupon voucher be used on your expert service? for the hard drive, how many megabytes is required for 100 ft of film?

Debra M.  asked on  Nov 23, 2012

A:

Debra - yes, the voucher can be used for the expert service. For 100 feet of film in expert (AVI format) we'd require no more than 2 GB of space (probably less). 100 feet would be about 6 minutes of footage. Thanks for your interest in our offer and please let us know if you have other questions. Happy Holidays!

Q:

I have 29 film reels (3 inches in diameter) and 3 film reels (7 inches in diamter) that I would like to transfer to DVD. How much would that be? Was considering your recent Groupon and wanted to see how much to purchase. Thanks

Bill E.  asked on  Nov 23, 2012

A:

Bill - The 29 film reels would contain about 1,450 feet of film total and the 7 inch film reels would contain about 1200 feet total for a total of 2650 feet of film (assuming all reels are full). The total for this order would be $742, so you definitely would want to take advantage of the $300 voucher which could be applied to this order and reduce the cost of the transfer to $442. That includes our full process - cleaning, splicing, repairing any damage, transfer, quality assurance review and putting the film on DVD. Q:

Re the digitizing, I have a question or two: 1. If you digitize a 60 minute VHS, but it only had 20 min of content, are you charged for 60 minutes, or the full tape? 2. Can you clarify how many VHS (or how many minutes of content) can be done with $100? Same for 8mm tapes? Thanks. Bob

Robert V.  asked on  Nov 22, 2012

A:

Bob - we charge per video cassette up to 2 hours in length. Each tape is $19.95 so the $100 option covers 5 tapes. The pricing is the same for both VHS and 8mm tapes. Happy Thanksgiving and please let us know if you have any other questions!
