I have 1 - 7 inch reel of film. How much would it cost to get it put on a dvd?

Paul A.  asked on  Mar 4, 2013

Hi Paul! A 7 inch reel will have a maximum of 400 feet of film. With the premium transfer, we transfer reel to reel film for $.28 per foot. You will receive viewable only DVDs which you can watch on your DVD player or computer. With the premium transfer, the cost would be $112 plus shipping costs. When you place your order, you have the option to select UPS Ground shipping for $10 or you can select self shipping. The UPS Ground shipping is a flat rate for packages up to 50 pounds. All orders will be returned via UPS Ground for $10.

Q:

If we would like to edit the VHS tapes, should we do that before we send them. Please Advise. Thank you.

Sue H.  asked on  Mar 4, 2013

A:

Hi Sue! I'm not sure of a way to edit VHS before sending them to us, but we do have an option in which you can receive editable video files. If you would like to edit your footage, we recommend the expert transfer. With the expert transfer, tapes that are two hours or less are transferred for $29.95. Tapes that are more than two hours are transferred at $29.95 for every two hours. In addition to standard DVDs, an AVI file will be created and will be uploaded onto an external hard drive, which you may provide or purchase from us for $119.95. We require 30GB of free space for every 2 hour tape. The AVI file is ready to edit and is compatible with any software and is compatible with PC or Mac. Q:

I have many slides of when our girls were little babies. How many slides would be on each DVD? How long is each slide presented for viewing as a "slide show" on the DVD? Patty B.

Patty B.  asked on  Mar 2, 2013

A:

Patty - We can fit up to about 1,000 slides on a DVD and as a standard part of our process we create a data DVD with the image files for use on your computer. If you'd like something that is viewable on your TV, then you'll want to select one of our slideshow options. The least expensive is $15 and that covers up to 250 images. They'll be on the screen for about 5-6 seconds each. For more information on the slideshows visit this page on our site: http://www.scandigital.com/digital-slideshow.php - please let us know if you have other questions!
