Q:

If I send an 8 GB USB, and I have several partial VHS tapes, is it still 1:1. In other words, would I need to send in a USB for every tape I send?

Donna H.  asked on  May 4, 2013

A:

Hello Donna, you would not need multiple flash drives, you would just need one large enough for your complete order. It would still be a 1:1 transfer in the sense that each tape would have its own file. If you're doing the premium transfer, we recommend having 6GB of free space for every 2 hours of tape. Please feel free to contact us with any further questions.

Q:

It looks like this deal is only for transfers to dvds not USB. Is that correct?

Donna H.  asked on  May 4, 2013

A:

Hi Donna! I apologize for any confusion. That is not correct. You can use the Groupon towards any of our services, this includes transfers onto external memory devices. However, you cannot use the Groupon to pay for the flash drive or hard drive with us. Hope this clears things up. Please feel free to contact us with any further questions.

Q:

We have about 10 Christmas plays on a combination of Hi8 and Video. Can you put them on a DVD in order? Can you put titles in between each? Can you edit out the parts where I was taking a picture of my feet? Can you make multiple copies? Would we be able to edit clips off them or make still photos? How would this be priced? Thanks.

Linda K.  asked on  May 2, 2013

A:

Hi Linda. Thank you for contacting us. Our transfer process from tape to DVD is 1 to 1 meaning the DVD disc is finalized and created at the end of each tape. The discs will each have their own title, so please label each tape with the title you would like to have appear on the DVD. During the transfer process, the video is captured directly as it plays on the tape, so we unfortunately are unable to edit parts out. We are able to create editable files for you with which you can create personalized versions of your home movies including removing feet and creating screen shots and clips. Tapes are transferred to DVD at a cost of 19.95 per tape (of 2 hours or less). To create those large, editable files mentioned above, we charge 29.95 per tape (of 2 hours or less) and create you not only playable DVD discs, but large, uncompressed AVI files for your home-movie-customizing enjoyment. Please feel free to contact us at 888-333-2808 or by email at support@scandigital.com if you have questions. Thank You! - Jason

Q:

I want to have my VHS digitized, what if I have several VHS with just a small portion filled up? For example, say 6 tapes that each have 15 minutes of video or less can that add up to one transfer or does that have to be 6 separate transfers? I want to do this deal for all my VHS stuff or I may buy the technology myself. I would love to do this as I have 15 or so VHS that need to be transferred, but I am hung up on the 6 or so that are only partially used VHS.

Denise T.  asked on  May 2, 2013

A:

Hi Denise. Thank you for contacting us. Our transfer process from tape to DVD is 1 to 1. The transfer is finalized after each tape and the DVD is created. This is to prevent instances where footage from a tape gets cut off because we've hit the end of the DVD. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We do offer an upgraded Groupon package $115 for $300 worth of services. The $300 will cover the cost to transfer 15 tapes of two hours or less. If you have questions about pricing or need assistance getting your order started please contact us at 888-333-2808 or email us at support@scandigital.com Thank You! - Jason

Q:

I have some fancy photo albums with large format pages. I suspect that removing and replacing the images from the pages would be too much work. How do you work with such physical assets? Can you scan pages and isolate the images? If not I think I would be fine with the larger files to preserve whole pages.

Ryan M.  asked on  May 2, 2013

A:

Hey Ryan. Thank you for contacting us. We do offer digitization of photos in albums. If you would like to consider this option, we charge $0.68/photo at 300dpi and $0.88/photo at 600dpi. The amount of work is not an issue; we're here to service you! In the event that the photos are unable to be removed from the album pages, we can digitize them as a whole page and separate the individual photos. Scans of whole album pages cost $1.88/page. Please feel free to contact us at 888-333-2808 or by email at support@scandigital.com if you have any questions. Thank You! - Jason

Q:

1) Can I download individual photos from the DVD once you have created it? 2) Can you do beta cassette films? 3) Some of the cassettes were taped over TV shows. WIll I be able to delete the TV shows from the DVD, leaving just the family movies? Tkx, Susie

Susan A.  asked on  May 2, 2013

A:

Hey Susan. Thanks for reaching out to us! To answer your first question; you will be able to copy individual photos from your disc to your computer. Each photo is scanned individually so an individual file is created making it easier to archive or share with friends and family. For Beta cassettes; we only scan Beta Max tapes, we do not scan Beta Cam. The television shows do present a slight problem. We are unable, by law, to transfer copyrighted material to DVD. If our video techs do run across copyrighted material on a tape we must return the tape without performing the transfer. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at 888-333-2808 or by email at support@scandigital.com. Thanks! - Jason
