Q:

I have 2 boxes of slides, somewhere between 1500 and 2000, all in carousels. I would prefer to drop them off rather than mail. First question: is that possible? (I am in Manchester, CT) Next question, if I apply the $100 Groupon to this order what will it cost (if the max 2000 is true?) Kathleen

KATHLEEN D.  asked on  Nov 24, 2012

A:

Kathleen - we would need you to ship these to our Los Angeles facility for processing and our site is integrated with UPS to provide secure shipping to us and back to you. If you opt for our bulk option, you would receive a $.10 per image discount on top of the groupon discount. If you have 2,000 images, I would suggest that you divide your slides into two orders of 1000 and apply a $100 groupon to each order. This would allow you to process each group of 1,000 slides for $480 for a total of $960 for the entire order. Thanks for your interest in our offer and please let us know if you have other questions. Happy Holidays!

Q:

Do I need to send everything I want done at one time, or can I send, say, a VHS tape this week and then send some slides later on? I gather a VHS tape is $20.00. How much for slides? - Brock Putnam

Brock P.  asked on  Nov 24, 2012

A:

Brock - you do not need to send everything in at once. The slides are $0.68 per slide and the $100 groupon covers about 150 slides. Thanks for your interest in our offer and please let us know if you have other questions. Happy Holidays!

Q:

Looking at your website it appears that one of each groupon will cover the cost of the film I would like converted. Groupon states that it can not be applied to hard drives. Can I pay the additional amount on your site to choose the hard drive option?

jason  asked on  Nov 23, 2012

A:

Jason - Yes, if you would like to purchase a hard drive from us, you can simply pay us for the hard drive and select the hard drive option upon check out. We will adjust upon finalizing your order so that the groupon is not applied to that cost. Thanks for your interest in ScanDigital and please let us know if you have other questions!

Q:

Will you convert commercial VHS to dvd? (I have a series of yoga 'how to' tapes). Also, how about movies - is there a copyright issue, or since I bought the VHS is it OK to convert? Can you give me any idea of how to estimate the cost by minutes, rather than feet? Thank you.

Deborah P.  asked on  Nov 23, 2012

A:

Deborah - Unfortunately we cannot transfer materials that are covered by a copyright so we would not be able to convert the yoga tapes for you. Thanks for your interest in ScanDigital and please let us know if you have other questions!

Nancy G.  asked on  Nov 23, 2012

Q:

Do you edit the film for bad sections and delete them prior to the dvd

Gloria & Bruce L.  asked on  Nov 23, 2012

A:

Gloria - With our reel-to-reel film transfer one of our techs reviews the film and will delete any leader footage. We do not edit out footage when it was clearly taken (even if it might be considered "bad"), but we certainly would delete any footage that is blank or completely dead. will m.  asked on  Nov 23, 2012

Approx. how many vhs or 8 mm will the $115 for $300 worth of services provide

Gloria & Bruce L.  asked on  Nov 22, 2012

Gloria - the $300 option covers approximately 15 video tapes or 900 feet of 8 mm film (if the film is on 3 inch reels, that is 18 reels). Please let us know if you have any other questions. Happy Thanksgiving!
