Q:

I have numerous 8mm reels that I would like to transfer to DVD. Would each one get its own DVD? There are a variety of events recorded over a number of years. Some of the events (reels) I would likke to share with others. Is this possible?

Theresa M.  asked on  Nov 25, 2012

A:

Theresa - The reels will actually be spliced together for the transfer, so I would recommend you group them prior to sending them to us so that they are in order on the DVD. Each reel will receive a chapter point. If you would like individual files, I would suggest that you opt for our hard drive option which will provide individual files for each reel. Thanks for your interest and please let us know if you have additional questions!

Q:

Do you have a way of dating or labeling pictures so that you can identify them by name or date?

Mary J.  asked on  Nov 24, 2012

A:

Mary - We will mirror your organization of the pictures digitally as part of our process. If you would like to send them organized into envelopes with a name or date, we'll create a folder with those images under that title. I hope this helps clarify our process. Thanks for your interest in our offer and please let us know if you have other questions. Happy Holidays!

Q:

Hello there. I was wondering if the transfer includes the audio portion of the videos? There was a deal a while ago for video transfer but the audio would have been replaced with music, and I would like to keep my audio. Thanks for your help.

Bethany O.  asked on  Nov 24, 2012

A:

Bethany - Our service replicates the videos in digital including whatever audio is already there. So whatever audio is on there will be on the DVDs we provide. Thanks for your interest in our offer and please let us know if you have other questions. Happy Holidays!

Does it all need to be in one format? I have negatives, slides and photographs that I would like to convert. I was thinking I would get the larger package. Thank you.

Barry S.  asked on  Nov 24, 2012

Barry - A mix of materials is totally fine! Thanks for your interest in our offer and please let us know if you have other questions. Happy Holidays!

Q:

Hi. I would like to transfer my various unedited movies to digital DVD's. I would like the option of being able to edit the DVD's after transfer on imovie on my Mac computer. (To cut out unwanted video, group together events or even add music etc.) Will I be able to do this if your company transfers my videos? I tried Costco once for transfer service and was only able to play the movie and not edit it. Thank you.

Kerrie W.  asked on  Nov 24, 2012

A:

Kerrie - We offer a service where we will provide the files on a hard drive for you and that would give you the files you need for editing. When setting up your order on our site, please select the hard drive option in addition to DVD. The groupon credit cannot be applied to the purchase of the actual hard drive, but it can be applied to the transfer services to convert the tapes into digital files that you can edit. I hope that is helpful. Thanks for your interest in our offer and please let us know if you have other questions. Happy Holidays!

Q:

I would like to do the service for myself (about 4 VCR tapes) and for my parents as a gift (they have about 20 of those mini VCR tapes -are those called 8mm?). If I purchase 3 for me and 3 for gifts, can you use more than one Groupon on a single order?

Kristi p.  asked on  Nov 22, 2012

A:

Kristi - Yes, we allow up to $300 worth of groupons on a single order. Your parents would need to place their own order and handle their materials under a separate account. The tapes they have sound like either Hi8/Video8 or MiniDV - we can process all of those formats for you. Thanks for your interest in ScanDigital and please let us know if you have other questions!

Q:

I have 11 Hi8 video tapes that I would liketo convert to CD's. How many groupons would I need to buy?

Shari H.  asked on  Nov 22, 2012

A:

Hi Shari - Each Hi8 video tape transferred to DVD will cost you $19.95 as long as your tapes are 2 hours or less in length. If you purchase 2 of our $100 groupon vouchers, you will have some extra charged for your 11th tape transfer. Or you could purchase a $300 voucher, and have some extra credit available to digitize other materials. If you have any questions, please feel free to post on these boards or email us. Happy Thanksgiving!
