Q:

We have 21 8mm reels. How many reels would your $300 option do?

Sue S.  asked on  Nov 25, 2012

A:

Sue - the $300 option will cover 900 feet of film. Without knowing the diameter of your reels I cannot give you a good estimate. If they're 3" reels, the $300 option covers 18 reels. Thanks for your interest and please let us know if you have additional questions!

Q:

I have many video tapes that are only partially filled with film footage. In your editing process, is someone actually watching the video, so I don't end up with a dvd full of dead space? Are multiple video tapes stored in 1 dvd? How do I know how much time constitutes $100 worht?

Maripat K.  asked on  Nov 24, 2012

A:

Maripat - Our system automatically detects the dead space and removes it during the transfer process. Each tape receives its own DVD and we cannot put multiple tapes on one DVD. The $100 groupon would cover the transfer of 5 video tapes. Thanks for your interest in our offer and please let us know if you have other questions. Happy Holidays!

Q:

On VHS- are we able to edit online before the final DVD is cut and does the sound transfer? thanks

Deborah S.  asked on  Nov 23, 2012

A:

Deborah - Our system does not allow the DVDs to be edited prior to finalizing the DVD. The sound will definitely transfer with the DVDs. Thanks for your interest in our offer and please let us know if you have other questions. Happy Holidays!

Q:

What is the extent of pre-digitization restoration?

Jan G.  asked on  Nov 23, 2012

A:

Jan - We will clean photographic materials with compressed air prior to scanning them. For video tapes, we inspect them and prep them for transfer. With reel to reel film, we actually clean the film, repair the sprockets and prep for transfer. Post-digitization we also review everything to ensure high quality.
