Q:

Can the DVD files you create be saved onto a computer. Thanks

Cindy P.  asked on  Nov 23, 2012

A:

Cindy - for photography orders, the DVDs are data discs which can be copied to your hard drive easily. For video and film orders, the DVD is formatted for a DVD player. The files can be copied to your computer, but they need to be "ripped". If you know that you want video files for use on your computer, we recommend our hard drive option which provides files that can easily be copied to your computer. Q:

Hi, I have about 150-200 photos (haven't gone through them yet) and a short VHS tape that I would like to have converted. Can I do all this for the $40 Groupon? Also, many of the photos also have negatives....is the quality better if I use the negatives instead of the actual pictures?

Wlliam S.  asked on  Nov 23, 2012

A:

William - The $100 groupon would cover about 150 photos and 1 VHS tape. If you'd prefer to use the negatives (which will result in better quality), the $100 groupon would cover about 135 negatives and 1 VHS tape. Thanks for your interest in ScanDigital and please let us know if you have other questions!

Q:

I've got an 8 mm filrm reel of my parent's wedding. What is the limit on the amount of 8 mm film that can be transferred to DVD for $40?? Not sure what six 3 inch reels mean.. do you mean 3 inches of film? I'm assuming you don't but if it's less than one full reel, I assume it would be covered by the terms of the deal. Is the 3 inches the radius or diameter of the reel? Because I've got about half of a six inch reel of 8 mm film. Thanks.

James L.  asked on  Nov 22, 2012

A:

James - the $40 for $100 option covers ~300 feet of film. The 3 inch guide is for the diameter of the reel and a typical 3 inch reel holds 50 feet of film. Half of a 6 inch reel is probably around 250-300 feet. I hope this helps. Happy Thanksgiving and please let us know if you have additional questions!

Q:

Is this just copying of the photos and slides - or can it be made into a movie of that person's life - along with music??

barbara l.  asked on  Nov 22, 2012

A:

Barbara - we can convert photos and slides for you and then make a DVD slideshow (in the movie format you mentioned) with music. A fully customized DVD slideshow with up to 250 images is $120 and the groupon credit can be applied to this option. Happy Thanksgiving and please let us know if you have additional questions!
