Q:

Where is the company located? How do we get our movie film to you? We have a large roll of film with a lot of trailers between the events. Do you screen and delete trailers before transferring to a CD?

Richard L.  asked on  Nov 23, 2012

A:

Richard - We have two processing facilities - one in Los Angeles and the other in central Missouri. All orders can be shipped into these facilities for processing and most film orders are processed in Missouri. Before finalizing the transfer, we do go through and edit out any leader film or dead spots on your reels (and you're not charged for that footage). Q:

how can I ensure that my mounted slides will be converted flipped in the right direction? recently I had some slides converted to digital images and they were all backwards. I had to go in and flip each one of them myself to correct.

Carolyn D.  asked on  Nov 23, 2012

A:

Carolyn - We have three parts of our process that eliminate this issue - First, the scanning techs are trained on the details of how slides were developed (if developed properly, they should have a clear front and back) and these techs also review each scan manually. Secondly, our editing team does all color correction, dust removal...etc. by hand. This means that every single image is viewed in full screen allowing us to double check if anything needs to be flipped. Third, all images are reviewed before shipping by our Quality Assurance team. This team inspects the work of the editors to ensure that the color balance was handled properly and the image quality meets our high standards. At that point they also pick up on any reversed images that may have snuck by the first two checkpoints. Obviously that requires a fairly robust workflow and is a labor intensive process, but our goal is to make this as easy for the customer as possible...which means you should not have any work to do when our process is completed. Q:

What reassurance do you give that you won't lose my precious photos and videos?

Helene R.  asked on  Nov 22, 2012

A:

Helene - Thanks for your question and I can completely understand your concern. We have been in business for over 5 years and to date we've processed more than 100,000 orders containing more than 20 million photos, 500,000 video tapes and nearly 50 million feet of film. We built our Essential Tracker system early on to ensure that every single order be processed in a safe, secure and high quality manner. We are very proud to have a stellar track record due to our tracking system. Every step of our process and every single order is tracked within our facility down to a specific shelf location. We provide a high degree of transparency allowing real time tracking of your order through your account login. There you can see 13 unique steps of our process. Our site is also integrated with UPS to ensure safe shipping and to guarantee that when materials are transferred from UPS to our processing facility everything runs smoothly. I hope this helps address your concerns. Thanks for your interest in ScanDigital and please let us know if you have other questions!
