Q:

Will I be able to copy the DVD in case I want to provide a copy of the picture to someone else?

A:

Yes, you can both make copies of the DVD and prints from the DVD. The images are standard JPEG files which are almost universal in their acceptance for printing. Also, Watch these useful behind the scenes photo scanning videos: http://ow.ly/1Qht9O http://ow.ly/1Ogl8X http://ow.ly/1y5Ybs

Q:

Hello, Thank you for this service and I would really like to take advantage of the Groupon, however, I an nervous about putting precious memories in the mail. Is there a way to secure no harm will occur to them? Tina

Tina M.  asked on  Dec 27, 2012

A:

ScanMyPhotos.com, founded back in 1990 is a leader in the photo imaging industry and professionally scans tens of millions of photos. You may use any shipping company you that are most comfortable with. However, we cannot warrantee or guarantee courier deliveries. You can send via signature confirmation and other specialty services and we do digitally archive and backup your entire order for 15-days as an added precaution. That said, the real problem is if you don’t have your pictures digitized, as then they do risk getting tucked away at home and misplaced, inadvertently thrown away, faded or lost due to fire, flood, etc. so either way there is a risk involved. If you don't use us, we HIGHLY recommend digitizing and backing up your photos ASAP. Q:

I have many old photos that are 3x3 or 3x4. Could these sizes be included in the special? Thanks, folks! Gaye

Gaye Y.  asked on  Dec 26, 2012

A:

This discounted Groupon deal as-is is only for scanning 4x6" photos to DVD however we do offer to scan other sizes upon submission of your order to us for scanning. Here's how: First, purchase the Groupon deal today. Then, when submitting your photos to us for scanning, select the option to scan sizes other than 4x6 on the order form for an additional $14.95 per Groupon. This will allow you to send sizes ranging from 3x3" up to 8x10" (Please note photos must be organized by size). My family took slides when we were kids. I have scanned some of my own and it takes a huge amount of time. Could slides be a part of the package IF there are less 4x6 prints?

Q:

is there a way to convert the pictures to a slide show? If so what would the additional cost be. Or do you have a price list for a separate picture scan into a slide show for a graduation next spring. Thank you Beverley

Beverley P.  asked on  Dec 26, 2012

A:

The DVD we provide you with is not a video DVD. It is only a DVD with your JPEG files on it. There are a number of slide show creation software products available that would allow you to create a movie for your DVD player to watch on a TV. Some examples are: iDVD ® or Nero PhotoShow ®. However, some newer model DVD players do have a slide show feature but most limit the number of photos that can be loaded. In our experience, most DVD players will not load more than 200 images.
