Commonly Asked Questions

Q:

Are smaller sized photos scannable or do you require all photos to be exactly 4x6?

Renee C.  asked on  Jan 14, 2013

A:

This discounted Groupon deal as-is is only for scanning 4x6" photos to DVD however we do offer to scan other sizes upon submission of your order to us for scanning. Here's how: First, purchase the Groupon deal today. Then, when submitting your photos to us for scanning, select the option to scan sizes other than 4x6 on the order form for an additional $14.95 per Groupon. This will allow you to send sizes ranging from 3x3" up to 8x10" (Please note photos must be organized by size).

More Questions and Answers

Q:

If i were to have 4x6 pics scanned at the higher rez versus having the negatives scanned how much difference would there be quality wise if i wanted to print large sizes such as 20 x 30?

brent  asked on  Jan 17, 2013

A:

You will always get the best quality scanning the negatives since that is the original source material. To use your example, a 4x6 scanned at 600 dpi would produce a file that is 2400 x 3600 pixels and a 35mm negative scanned at 4,000 dpi would produce a file that is 3894 x 5971 pixels. If you were to print a 20x30 from those two files, the photo scan would be printed at 120 dpi and the negative would be 195 dpi. You may not notice a huge difference depending upon the printer, but that gives you an idea.

Q:

New to Groupon so what does it mean by Limit 1 per order? I understand that you can purchase 4 per person with 2 additional as gifts but what does it mean by Limit 1 per order?

Stephanie G.  asked on  Jan 16, 2013

A:

It is a bit contradictory. You may purchase up to four Groupons for yourself and you may submit all 4 together for a total of 2,000 photos if you wish in one shipment, however, please not that any and all additional options that you may choose when submitting your photos for scanning will be charged for all submitted Groupons. If you need different options for different Groupons, then they need to be submitted separately. An example of this would be if you had 1,000 4x6 photos and 1,000 photos of different sizes. If submitted all together, we would charge the other sizes fee for all 4 Groupons submitted together because we wont' know how many of each size is submitted, just that there were 2,000 total images scanned.

Q:

What if the pictures are stuck in a photo album? Can they be shipped attached to the sheet? Or do they need to be separated photos?

Chandra N.  asked on  Jan 15, 2013

A:

They do need to be individual photos. Photos stuck to anything else become too thick for our high speed scanners.

Q:

Do I have to send 500 pictures at one time or can I send smaller amounts which in turn add up to 500

Elizabeth N.  asked on  Jan 14, 2013

A:

All photos to be scanned must be shipped at one time. We would not accept multiple orders to reach a total of 500 photos.
