Left untended, physical photos face threats from being singed by the sun or autographed by impostors. Modernize your memories with today’s Groupon: for $20, you get $50 worth of photo scanning from Scanapix. Scanapix uses digital scanning services to convert treasured photos into artfully rendered digital immortality. At a flat rate of 25 cents per scan for pictures sized 1.1”x2.7” to 12”x18”, photos sent to the Scanapix office are then converted into identical electronic facsimiles and returned in two formats. The 72 dpi format is well suited for sharing online, and a 400 dpi copy provides a high-resolution image to create intricately detailed prints or carefully crop out grounded children from family portraits. After the photos have been converted, customers will have their packages, which are equipped with tracking numbers, shipped back to them. In addition to photos, Scanapix can scan, convert, and digitize newspaper articles, certificates, or greeting cards.
