The order was placed in February and I didn't receive my scans until June. Other than the lead time issues, the quality and service was good.

Although the quality seemed to be as advertised, I was quite disappointed by the several added charges for shipping and processing, etc. The worst part about it was that they wait until they already have possession of your one-of-a-kind treasures before they tell you how much extra it's gonna cost to get them back. I didn't make an issue out of it because it wasn't a huge amount of money, though when you consider the total cost of my order, the so-called "extras" amounted to roughly 40% added to the bill. Based on my experience with ScanCafe, I'd say that it's apparent that their business model depends on these somewhat deceptive practices. One additional note: I did send an email to ScanCafe customer service, expressing dissatisfaction with the undisclosed or hidden charges; they didn't respond to my message.
