Commonly Asked Questions

Q:

I have multiple VHS (family) tapes with less than two hrs on them. Will you combine the short VHS tapes onto the DVD till it's full?

Michael O.  asked on  Nov 8, 2012

A:

The voucher will cover 3 videotapes for up to 2 hours of footage on each. Since most people have more than 3 tapes, we have a special offer available for you on your first visit. You can have any additional tapes transferred for just $10 each, almost half off our normal price. Bring all you have!

Q:

It does not appear like this deal is for 8mm movies or other old reel formats. Is that correct? I have a few old family reels of old movies and am interested in getting them transferred to DVD. If this groupon does not include these are there other deals you have right now for this?

derek b.  asked on  Nov 7, 2012

A:

This is correct. There is not enough volume in this area to justify a Groupon, so you probably won't see them come up. But, you will find this is not expensive. For example, the common 50 foot reel is only $10. It takes just a week or two and the end product will transform your family. Since there is a limited lifespan on this type of film, I highly encourage you to act on this right away. Our Mira Mesa store has experts standing by who can inspect and evaluate the film for you on the spot.

Q:

I have a VHS of a Sandi Patti concert that seems to be stuck. Can you still do the transfer thing to a DVD? I would love to be able to view this beloved concert. IT is no longer available for purchase. I bought it over the internet and it came this way. It looks like it's just caught in the wheel at the very beginning of the tape. Can you help me? Thanks

Angelav  asked on  Nov 6, 2012

A:

Hi! We would need to take a look at the tape in order to assess the level of attention needed. We offer a videotape repair service if necessary for an additional fee. 95% of the time, we are able to fix the problem and transfer to DVD.

Q:

Does this deal include transferring something from tape to CD?

Charlotte K.  asked on  Nov 5, 2012

A:

Hi Charlotte. Are you asking about audio transfer? This deal does not include audio transfer, but we do provide that service. Perhaps you can call Courtney at 858-271-5222 and let her know what you have.

Once the pictures are scanned, can you reprint them?

Adrienne A.  asked on  Nov 5, 2012

A:

Hi Adrienne. Sure, you can. Each photo is scanned at 600DPI and saved as a JPEG image, just like you took it with for digital camera last week. You can print, share and save them.

Q:

I have a 4 hour VHS tape that I would like transferred. How much would that cost

Bruce F.  asked on  Nov 5, 2012

A:

A DVD can hold up to two hours of video. The additional DVD will cost $10. It is very helpful if you can tell us which videotape has the extra hours on it when you come in. Thanks!
