What You'll Get
French gastronome Brillat-Savarin once said, “A dinner which ends without cheese is like a beautiful woman with only one eye.” Today’s Groupon makes sure your beautiful women all have two eyes. For $65, you can get a three-month subscription to the Cheese of the Month Club at Scardello Artisan Cheese.
Located in a warm, loft-like Old World storefront at 3511 Oak Lawn Ave., this mecca for turophiles (that’s cheese lover to you) stocks more than 120 seasonal cut-to-order artisan cheeses, including American and European farmstead-produced, along with a selection of boutique fine wines, beers, and other tasty accompaniments (breads, crackers, jellies, cured meats, etc.). Treat taste buds to a three-month subscription to the Cheese of the Month Club, and you'll get approximately 1.5 pounds of hand-selected cheeses every 30 days. Each seasonal selection will vary in texture, milk-type, region, and flavor to widen hors d'oeuvre horizons. Your subscription also includes a pairing cheat sheet, to help you properly couple crackers with the appropriate cheese counterparts. Pick up packages at Scardello Artisan Cheese on the first weekend of each month (January 7–9, February 4–6, and March 4–6) or call to arrange alternate pick-up plans.
Yelpers give Scardello a perfect five-star average, especially singling out the thoughtful customer service:
