Scarpina Bar & Grill
Nino Selimaj knows restaurants—he owns five of them. Needless to say, his foodie fans were taken aback when he transformed his Italian eatery, Osso Bucco, into Scarpina Bar & Grill, and conceived a new Mediterranean-Latin fusion menu with chef Ricardo Cardona. The eatery’s 2010 transformation was covered by New York Magazine's Grub Street, and its kitchen continues to churn out its signature mix of worldly dishes. For the past few years, Scarpina's savory menu has given diners hefty portions of seafood ceviche, marinated meats, creamy pastas, and tapas that evoke the distinct flavors of Greece, Turkey, Italy, Spain, and South America.
Square vintage mirrors artfully decorate Scarpina's cream-colored walls, reflecting the glow of contemporary candelabras hovering above natural-wood columns covered in entwined wood branches. The restaurant's central staircase is lit up with glowing purple lights, adding a pop of color to the neutral-toned space, as Middle Eastern and Latin music creates a soundtrack for diners conversing over dinner or reenacting scenes from Jerry Maguire.
