Choose from Three Options

  • $10 for a Sweet Night Out chocolate tour for one (a $20 value)
  • $15 for a Sweet Night Out chocolate tour for two (a $30 value)
  • $30 for a Sweet Night Out chocolate tour for four (a $60 value)

The two-hour experience begins with a behind-the-scenes, BYOB tour of Schakolad Chocolate Factory. A chocolate expert, affectionately called a Schakolatier, recounts the history of chocolate and shares interesting facts, including chocolate's health benefits. Participants then learn to mold and decorate their own chocolates. They can also dip fruit, pretzels, and truffles into a chocolate fountain, which flows with milk, dark, or white chocolate. Additionally, each member of the group will receive a Schako latte, the factory's signature hot-chocolate drink.

Schakolad Chocolate Factory

In 1969, Baruch Schaked began making chocolate under the tutelage of his chocolatier father-in-law. Though his father-in-law had made a name for himself in Argentina, Baruch honed his confectionary craft across Europe, finally settling in the United States, where chocolate had been outlawed. Many years later, when he announced his intentions to retire from chocolate making, Baruch's son, Edgar, coaxed him into continuing the family legacy with a new shop, Schakolad Chocolate Factory.

In the years since, the business has flourished, bringing the Schaked clan one step closer to its ultimate goal: to replace the city’s manhole covers with chocolate discs. In the meantime, they craft handmade European-style confections that are made fresh each day.

Not only is the chocolate fantastic, but Andrew and Keli are wonderful hosts. They explain the history of chocolate along with how it's made today before showing us the ins and outs of their chocolate shop. They provide plenty of tasting opportunities but you will still want to take home a tray of truffles! You get to have a hands on experience with the tour too!
