Guests can travel endlessly around Schlitterbahn Waterpark Kansas City water park without ever leaving the water. This seemingly impossible feat is achievable thanks to a man-made waterway known as the Transportainment River System. Part lazy river, part high-speed thrill ride, the system is actually over one mile of interconnecting rivers, chutes and beaches. A guest might start their trip at the zero-entry shores of Torrent Beach, before encountering the ocean-sized waves of Torrent River. After navigating the swells, that same person will soon traverse through the drops and whitewater of King Kaw Rapids River. Patrons can always catch some more waves on the Boogie Bahn surf ride or relax on the beach.
While floating through the more leisurely areas, tubers should take a moment to gaze up at some of the park's towering attractions—including the twisting Whirlwind Tube Slide or Verrückt, the world's tallest water slide. At the top of its 168 feet and 7 inches, two to three guests jump into a raft and plunge to the bottom, before rising back up for another six story hill. In total, the water park encompasses more than 20 attractions, from the highest of thrills, to mini slides for kids, to a swim-up bar for adults.
