Yes it is ok to bring children of all ages. Coast Guard regulations require us to count every passenger. Every passenger must have a ticket. We have a Tips for Parents section on our website that you may find helpful as well: http://www.schooner.org/tel/booktrp.htm. Scroll down to #8.

Q:

SOUNDS GREAT - where do you sail? out into the ocean? along the cost mostly? around lighthouses? do you have a website that shows photos of the dinners? do we call & reserve our spot when we see good weather?

Jocelyn M.  asked on  May 6, 2013

A:

We have a great website with lots of pix. http://www.schooner.org. There is also a "I"ve got a groupon page" http://www.schooner.org/tel/groupon.htm. We sail in and around Gloucester's harbor and coastline. You will see 2 lighthouses, castles, beautiful mansions, etc. Just know that you cannot use your Groupon on our dinner sails or any of our other feature sails (music, fireworks, etc.) and no, you cannot pay the difference. We post our schedule here: http://www.schooner.org/tel/groupon.htm and take reservations not more than 2 weeks in advance.

Q:

Is this something a 20 yr old and his girlfriend might enjoy? The pictures seem to show more middle age people. Is alcohol served on the boat? Can they bring soda/snacks on board?

pamela d.  asked on  May 4, 2013

A:

We have lots of 20-somethings sail with us. Might be time for us to refresh our pictures! We sell beer, ale, wine, champagne, soft drinks and snacks onboard.

Q:

Any restrictions on the dates or time of sailings. What time does it sail?

M C.  asked on  May 3, 2013

A:

Early in the season, we sail just on weekends. As it gets warmer and we get busier, we offer as many as 4 sails per day. we take reservations not more than 2 weeks in advance. We post our sailing schedule here: http://www.schooner.org/tel/booktrp1.htm. You can use your Groupon for any of our 2 hr. public sails, where the regular cost of an adult ticket is $40. It cannot be used for any of our feature sails...music, dinner, fireworks, etc.
