Exploring unknown realms can be terrifying, which is why many mothers choose to go to outer space rather than clean beneath the beds of their 13-year-old sons. Roam extraterrestrial turf with today’s Groupon to Science Downtown. Choose between the following options:

  • For $34, you get four admissions (up to a $72 value).

Science Downtown devotes its earthbound facility to the study of otherworldly matters, aiming to become a permanent exhibit hall and educational hotspot for science-related subjects. Developed by the University of Arizona’s College of Science, Science Downtown’s current exhibit, Mars and Beyond, launches visitors into a high-tech exploration of the red planet that includes stunning images. Multiple theaters and interactive attractions pour stunning views of the solar system into star-struck eyes, and scaled-to-size NASA models, spacecraft samples, and replicas of the Phoenix Mars lander provide tangible examples of the sheer size of celestial equipment. Also on display will be meteorites, a T-Rex skull, and a scaled model of the University of Arizona’s own HiRISE high-resolution orbiting camera, used by paparazzi astronauts to chronicle the budding romance between the earth and moon.

This is good for older kids. My 9-year old grandson enjoyed it. Younger kids would not understand it. Really interesting and fun for older kids.
