Sucrose, like the glycosidic bond linking its fructose and glucose components, unites those seeking relief from summer heat, nagging sweet teeth, and the everyday perils of living in Candy Land. Divulge in taste buds' darling organic compound with today's Groupon: for $10, you get a $20 gift card to Scooptacular Hand Crafted Ice Cream, located in Laveen.
Scooptacular serves a tasty variety of hand-crafted cream coolers to dessert-seeking denizens. Although flavors rotate like a cat surfing a ceiling fan, favorites include the oatmeal cookie (a swirl of caramel running swiftly through the canyons of oatmeal-cookie-crumble-dotted caramel ice cream) and the fiercely named cookie monster (an eye feast of bright blue cotton-candy ice cream, mixed with chocolate chip cookie dough and Oreo cookie crumbles). Ice cream is $2.48 for a single scoop, and $3.74 for a double. For ambitious eaters or LARP after-parties, pints ($5.99) and quarts ($8.99) are available in classic concoctions such as rocky road, butter pecan, and chocolate mint chip, as well as permutations such as tiramusu and birthday cake with buttercreme frosting. Cakes are also available for special occasions and holidays ($17.99–$39.99).
Scooptacular has become a fixture for the subspecies of Arizonians living off of milk, sugar, and love. All ice cream is processed in store, using the freshest ingredients. This choice conglomeration of components includes hand-selected milk from Illinois cows, a proprietary blend of Madagascar vanilla beans, and an anti-brain-freeze serum derived from Truffula trees.
- While nearby fast food chains offer frozen treats and lots of sweets, nothing compares to the products offered at Scooptacular. All ice cream is hand-crafted in the store. – Anani Vasquez, Examiner.com
- Finally, a great ice cream place just around the corner. The place was packed and all the employees were very friendly and helpful, encouraging us to try out all the flavors. – Melanie C., Yelp
Scooptacular Hand Crafted Ice Cream
Chocolate from Belgium and vanilla from Madagascar—every one of Scooptacular Hand Crafted Ice Cream's flavors is developed and blended in-house from scratch with fresh ingredients such as these. Properietors Nindi and Carissa Wadhwa and their staff of Scoopies crumble chocolate cookies into cookies and crème ice cream, scatter rainbow sprinkles and buttercream frosting into birthday cake ice cream, and swirl together caramel, graham cracker crumbs, and chocolate rocks in the Laveen concrete mix. For kids' birthday parties, the celebrant can come in ahead of time to craft their own ice cream flavor with a Scoopies' help, then treat their guests to a tour of the facility, including the room where sugar-fed chickens lay marshmallow eggs.
