Scott Hawaii
In 1932, cobbler Elmer Scott and his wife Jean decided to stray from their Marblehead, Massachusetts, home to explore new lands and fit Elmer's high-quality footwear to new feet. The Scotts' journey led them more than 6,000 miles away to the sun-drenched shores of Hawaii, where Elmer's abilities enabled him to open a shoe store with a focus on plantation boots for sugar-cane- and pineapple-field workers. With the arrival of World War II, boot materials became a hard-to-come-by commodity and the pineapple was briefly declared the state bird of Hawaii, inspiring the Scott's to refocus their services into the creation of comfy, casual "slippers."
Today, Scott Hawaii continues to mold the trendy sandwear with the same attention to detail, working under the experienced gaze and above the fashionably clad feet of a third generation of Scotts. The company backs the craftsmanship of each of its signature shoes with a guarantee against any defects throughout the life of the sole, and will gladly replace problem pairs with no questions asked.
