Schmancy art show with many artists showcasing and working on their various genres. I was glad I did not pay full price for admission though - would have felt ripped off at full price just to wander around and look at art for sale?
  • Unlimited entry
  • 100 artists
  • Indoor & outdoor displays
  • Observe artists at work

Without art fairs, creative types would have to sneak into auto shows, spelling bees, and after-school detentions in order to find an attentive audience for their creations. Give aesthetes an appropriate public with today's Groupon: for $8, you get two tickets to Scottsdale's Celebration of Fine Art (up to a $16 value). Children 12 and younger are admitted for free.

Scottsdale's Celebration of Fine Art showcases the work of 100 artists working in a variety of media. Each ticket permits unlimited admission over the 10-week period, which began on January 15 and lasts until March 27. Browse the 40,000-square-foot space and observe piece-crafters at work, freely chatting with them about their process or the career trajectories of painting elephants. Stroll inside the white tents and explore works rendered from oil paint, ceramics, stone, glass, and neo-classical gelatin molds. The outdoor sculpture court displays more than 100 structures for the perusal of decorators, architects, and other bronze aficionados. The show's jury appraises the quality of the artwork using standards tailored to each specific medium, so jewelers never suffer generic criticism like "derivative of Franz Schubert" or "too much paprika." An on-site cafe offers sandwiches and snacks artfully dubbed after O'Keefe, Picasso, and more, ensuring taste buds feast as thoroughly as eyes.
