Choose from Three Options

  • $28 for a 30-minute Taste of Sailing tour for two to Toe Island (a $60 value)
  • $30 for a 90-minute introduction-to-sailing course for one person (a $60 value)
  • $499 for a 2.5-hour Gallant yacht charter for up to 12 people (a $998 value)

The introductory course lets amateur sailors learn basic skills as they handle lines and take the helm during a hands-on lesson. The 30-minute Taste of Sailing tour heads out to Toe Island using just wind- and wavepower, and groups of up to 12 can charter the 50-foot Gallant yacht for a festive outing on the water.

Scovare Expeditions Inc.

With more than 25 years of maritime experience, Shane St. Clair captains Scovare Expeditions' fleet of sailboats, unveiling the windblown channels of the Willamette River to budding sailors and sightseeing passengers. During sailing tours, passengers can bob across the river while taking in the views of the volcanic caldera of Elk Rock Island or feast on three-course meals as the sails fill up with wind like a balloon ruining its dinner. A new 40' ocean going yacht is available for private and corporate events and a fast pontoon boat keeps guest boating in style. Those interested in learning the ropes can sign up for sailing lessons, where savvy instructors teach novices how to command the helm, guide the lines, and barter with miserly seagulls.

Customer Reviews

My family and I had a lot of fun learning how to sail. We all had a chance to work different areas. If you love the water, I recommend coming here.
