Bodies of water are frequent metaphors in poetry due to their unfathomable depths, unknowable sprawl, and unattainable porpoises. Explore the enigma with today's deal: for $17, you get one adult ticket (a $35 value) for a glass-bottom-boat snorkeling experience from Sea Experience. This Groupon includes a snorkel, a mask, fins, and a snorkel vest. Trips depart daily at 10:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. from Bahia Mar marina. Children can tag along ($15) or snorkel ($21) as well.
The Sea Experience's petite fleet of boats features two vessels, both Coast Guard certified and outfitted with large panels of glass in the floors to allow unparalleled views of the briny depths. Once in the open seas, passengers can peer through the window, lock eyes with passing fish, and call dibs on previously untapped troves of gold doubloons. After a while, spectators are invited to break through the glass floor and enter the warm waters for an hourlong fin-clad dip under the sea.
Though snorkeling locations vary, a crew-favorite site is Fort Lauderdale Twin Ledges. Composed of two ledges and a 150-foot-long valley, the coral-bedecked structure is 15–20 feet below the surface, making it easily viewable through both the boat’s transparent bottom and from the surface of the water when snorkeling. The ledges are home to plentiful marine life, including the majestic queen angelfish, the winsome trumpetfish, and the atonal sopranosaxophonefish. First-timers and worldly merpersons alike are welcome to take the plunge, and certified, safety-trained crewmembers will be standing by to provide tips to the tentative snorkeler or reluctant aqua-cat.

Five TripAdvisors give Sea Experience an average of 4.5 stars:
- I did not know what to expect about diving in Ft. Lauderdale. Turned out very nice. Reefs were decent. Diving on the wrecks was wonderful. Well worth the trip. The staff were all courteous and helpful. The gossip about the local mega yachts and mansions on the way out and back was almost as fun as the dives. I look forward to going back. – Catskiller
- Great dive / snorkel boats. The crew is great also. – markbrettin
