- $99 for a Saturday horsemanship camp for one child age 7–16 ($175 value)
Camps are held each Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. First, campers age 7 to 16 learn basic techniques for cleaning, grooming, and saddling horses. Then, following a skill assessment, they are matched with a suitable horse and take part in a riding lesson in the arena. For the rest of the day, campers go on supervised trail and beach rides along the Half Moon Bay coast and spend time on other ranch activities with ponies and donkeys. Campers should bring a lunch and extra layers of clothing.
Sea Horse Ranch
For nearly 50 years, Sea Horse Ranch has attracted dedicated equestrians that care for the ranch’s 80 horses and makes sure each guest has a safe and pleasant experience. Many have been on staff for decades, developing the knowhow to navigate the local terrain and to diffuse intense staring contests between horses.
In addition to leading guided horseback rides along the local trails and seashores, the ranch offers horse boarding. During boarding, your horse will be fed hay and alfalfa, and have some free time to gallop around several on-site arenas.
