For years, science journals have debated which is faster—a speedboat or a baseball thrown by Alan Alda. Today's Groupon lets you conduct your own experiment: for $12, you get a 50-minute speedboat tour from Entertainment Cruises' Seadog III, up to a $25 value including taxes and fees. The trip runs daily from Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend. This Groupon is not valid from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.

Departing from the Inner Harbor and coasting southeast on the Patapsco River toward Key Bridge, the light-heartedly narrated water journey provides seaside views of the USS Constellation, historic Federal Hill, the Domino Sugar factory, Tide Point, and the USS Torsk. The iconic and cozy Seadog III is an open-air speedboat able to accommodate up to 108 passengers; travel speeds are up to 30 knots, or 34.6 mph. Families, groups, or groups of families that share a family crest can depart on one of the vessel’s multiple voyages per day. Click here to check out a current schedule.

This is a great chance to show your friends and family the city in a whole new way by maximizing the number of attractions it's possible to see in one tour. The ship is handicap accessible and lavatory-equipped. Call ahead to schedule a reservation.
