Q:

On the blow your own deal, is this a group class? If so, how many students? My son is experienced with pyrex glass and I thought he might enjoy working with a different medium.

A:

The blow your own is one on one with an instructor. It's not a group class.

Q:

This question is directed to the glass blowers: I have a brother in his early 50s who would LOVE this experience. He has tried one episode of glass-blowing (in another place), and I'd love to get this for him. My concern is, at one point, he got so hot he had to leave and take a bathroom break. Would that be a problem in this setting? And besides your directions about protective clothing, is there anything YOU do to "keep cool" that he could learn?? Thanks so much for your response! A:

Our shop remains very cool. We have great ventilation and a large garage door which provided a cool cross breeze. There is arm protection he can wear, but not body gear. Some folks wear a damp cloth head band to keep cool. We recommend long sleeve shirts and jeans to keep the heat off your skin, but have a tee shirt in case you feel like taking off the long sleeves, , plus plenty of water. You will be surprised how cool it stays in our shop. Our space in also very large and isn't stuffy at all.

Q:

I want to purchase 1 for my wife and 1 for me. Can we use both during one visit?

James L.  asked on  Dec 23, 2012

A:

Yes, you'll just need to let the staff know when you are booking that you want to come together. If you are doing blow your owns we will sign you both up with the same instructor and you will both be present for the others session, and you can have fun all together.
