A Chat with Sedona Red Rock Adventures
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Our tours are customized to each individual group of customers. There is never a set itinerary. For we find it a better approach to base our tours on what we feel you would most enjoy while experiencing red rock country with us. This gives each group complete flexibility throughout your tour with us
What is the experience customers can expect?
For your comfort all tours are conducted in fully enclosed passenger vans, allowing you to experience the majestic beauty of red rock country without being rocked about in and open air jeep. This also provides for a dust and dirt free experience that can be climate controlled to your comfort level.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
As the owner, I attended NAU in the late 1980’s and instantly fell in love with the open space and natural beauty of this state. It is my love of nature, the great outdoors, and people that inspired me to give up the rat race and do something I love. I love where I live and I love what I do.
What do you love most about your job?
Many people dislike what they do but do it day after day. For me, it’s quite different. I love Arizona! I relish in the natural beauty here, the peacefulness, the serenity. It’s this serenity that I bring forth on every tour, allowing you to experience Sedona through my eyes and my team of guides.
Sedona Red Rock Adventures
Sedona Red Rock Adventures' founder, Jim Reich, credits his father with nurturing a love of nature in their home outside New York City. As an adult, Jim transplanted his passion for the outdoors to the crimson boulders of Sedona after encouragement from a friend and fellow outdoorsman. A Western backdrop for movies during the 1940s and '60s, Sedona covers 19 square miles in the middle of scarlet bluffs, canyons, and Native American ruins and petroglyphs. Jim and his canine sidekick, Summit, share their affinity for fresh air through diverse tours that range from daylong jaunts into the Grand Canyon to the exploration of nocturnal wildlife during full-moon adventures. He adheres to Leave No Trace protocols, leaving nearby national parks free from litter or speakers blaring the theme from Chariots of Fire.
Jim powers all of his tours, including voyages through wine country and microbreweries, with drinks and snacks, and invites pooches along for the ride. He also snaps photos so that patrons can always remember the time they dropped their digital camera into the Grand Canyon.
