Selena's at Willow Lake Tavern
Every Sunday at 10:30 a.m., Selena's stirs to life as diners file in to feast upon the restaurant's still-warm beignets. Sunday brunch is a tradition here, but it's also indicative of Selena's festive New Orleans–inspired vibe. Indeed, throughout the rest of the week, Selena's treats its guests to a fusion of Creole and Sicilian cuisine.
The restaurant's commitment to fresh ingredients is impressive. Rather than wait for it to rain shrimp, the restaurant flies fresh seafood in from the East Coast every day. Chefs turn that loot into generously portioned dishes, including platters and po' boys. Along with its eclectic spread of comfort food, Selena's creates a homey ambiance with exposed brick and a large stone fireplace. Outside, visitors can gather on a patio flanked by a koi pond, where kids can feed the fish and ask them how they learned to swim without floaties.
