What You'll Get
Concentrating on your breath not only helps to calm and clear your mind—it also hones your ability to listen to the wind and all the stock-market advice it carries with it. Benefit from nature's secrets with today's Groupon: for $40, you get 10 yoga classes at Self Awakening Yoga Studio in Salem (up to a $120 value).
Inside Self Awakening Yoga Studio's 1,900-square-foot facility, experienced instructors lead pretzeling participants through a variety of yoga classes to meld mind and body. The schedule offers sessions every day of the week, including the foundation flow class for strengthening and flexibilifying beginner and intermediate benders, and the all-level hot yoga for sweating out stiffness and the inability to write novels with your feet. Practice sun salutations during Vinyasa flow classes, which draw attention to practiced breathing and emphasize fluidity between postures.
Little yogis age 9–14 can try yoga for kids, which integrates instruction and fun activities to challenge and entertain young students while teaching posture, breathing, stress management, and meditation. The studio provides amenities such as mats, towels, and yoga blocks for all students so prospective participants don't have to tug along stubborn pack mules loaded with yoga paraphernalia.

About Self Awakening Yoga
Self Awakening Yoga owner Barbara Sterling describes its mission as guiding students toward a sense of balance that helps them be present in their own lives. Glossy, eco-friendly bamboo floor spans 1,900 square feet of airy studio space, whose white walls are painted with large-scale lotuses and Eastern designs. The studio fosters a community atmosphere by lending books, magazines, DVDs, and CDs to students for use at home.
The studio’s instructors have a variety of reasons for coming to the practice of yoga, whether it was recommended by a doctor after an injury, the solution to physical stress from marathon running or rugby, or the life-changing vocation of a close friend. Consequently, they teach classes and workshops that address a variety of needs through a spectrum of yoga styles, including Vinyasa, heated Vinyasa, prenatal, restorative, and gentle. Memberships and private lessons are also available to let students adjust the frequency and individual attention of their own curricula.
