Celebrating 35 Years Of Furry Fun

To celebrate its 35th year, the nation’s only theme park based entirely on Sesame Street is pulling out all the stops. All season long, visitors can join the party by hopping onto whirling rides, zooming down splashy water slides, and enjoying toe-tapping shows featuring characters from the beloved children’s series.

The entire park will be decked out for the occasion—featuring a huge inflatable birthday cake, giant candles all the way down Sesame Street and new character photo spots around the park. Even the Sesame Street topiaries will be outfitted in their birthday best. Elsewhere, the daily parade becomes the Neighborhood Birthday Party Parade, complete with colorful balloons, sparkly cupcakes, and a brand-new birthday song. The jubilee also features three show-stopping performances about letters, numbers, and friendship, mixed in with a set of classic and contemporary Sesame Street tunes.

Sesame Place

Strolling through the streets of Sesame Place, kids can get up close and personal with life-sized versions of Elmo, Cookie Monster, and the rest of the Sesame Street gang. But warm, fuzzy hugs aren't all the park has to offer—throughout Sesame Place, kids and parents alike can sit down to watch live entertainment or strap in for exciting rides.

  • Neighborhood Street Party Parade: The colorful cast of characters rides floats down a recreation of Sesame Street, greeting fans as they pass by during a singalong block party.
  • Elmo the Musical: Elmo and Cookie Monster play detective to find a missing cookie with a little help from Velvet, chickens, and audience members.
  • Family-Friendly Rides: Classic carnival rides are given a Sesame Street facelift, such as the Flying Cookie Jars Ferris wheel and Snuffy's Slides.
