Sailing is a luxurious way to relax and see the sights, unlike boarding a saddled turtle, which usually results in boredom and soggy lungs. Cruise the blue in comfort with today's Groupon: for $79, you get a two-hour lunch or afternoon picnic sail for two from Seven Seas Sailing School of Buffalo (up to a $250 value). This Groupon is valid on cruises Sunday–Friday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. or from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Sailabrating more than 40 years in operation, the nonprofit Seven Seas Sailing School boasts a fleet of gleaming vessels and a crew of skippers who expertly navigate Lake Erie's majestic waterways. During the two-hour captained cruise, as many as six mariners bask on the deck with a picnic, while the wind blows through their hair and their hair blows through their hats. Cruises depart Sunday–Friday and 11 a.m. or 2 p.m.; passengers are invited to provide their own picnic or purchase a gourmet basket from Seven Seas in advance. As wayfarers watch the sun setting over the shores of Lake Erie, they are encouraged to chat with their experienced captain about the points of sail and the difference between port and Starburst.

This Groupon includes a free two-hour basic sailing course during August or September, and $50 off the Introduction to Sailing class (a $349 value before discount).

About Seven Seas Sailing Center

Open since 1970, the U.S. Sailing Association–accredited Seven Seas Sailing Center offers landlubbers a taste of the aquatic life aboard sailboats manned by U.S. Coast Guard–certified captains. The team regularly exercises budding sailors' sea legs with certification courses and a seven-part Basic Sail program, and has also instructed students with multiple sclerosis and worked with the Sea Scouts to construct the world's first brick sailboat as part of a mission to take down rogue lighthouses. Seven Seas' headquarters on the Buffalo Ship Canal, complete with on-shore barbecues, a gazebo, and dockside gardens, hosts regular Friday-night family Sailabration events that combine food and fireworks with lively cruises and contests. When not sailing through their own programs, Seven Seas' captains and boats have been featured as crews in The Sullivans and Bruce Almighty.
