For $15, today's side deal gets you $30 worth of classes, workshops, lounge time, party packages, materials, merchandise, and more at Sew-Deluxe on South Hackberry Street.
Sew-Deluxe provides crafters with a multifaceted creativity hub chock-full of all the materials, expertise, and tools required to conceive and complete any sewing project. Settle in to the well-equipped lounge ($20 for two hours, or $35 for four hours) to work on whatever endeavor you desire, using the supplied sewing machines and tools and drawing on the staff's extensive knowledge to make your plaid candelabra or organic-cotton dune buggy a well-made masterpiece. The idea-bereft can get started on a project by grabbing a complimentary cup of coffee and perusing the inspiration library, then stocking up on the fabrics and notions they need to bring the selected job to fruition.
Classes and workshops—such as a three-hour Survival Sewing class ($30) that covers pant hemming, hole patching, and more—are available to help novice needle jockeys learn the ropes and more experienced hands hone their skills. Meanwhile, party packages provide a unique venue for birthday celebrations, bridal showers, and girls' nights out. Check out the studio's calendar for upcoming classes and workshops, as well as lounge hours.
Must be 16 or older for adult classes, or ages 9–15 for kids' classes, unless otherwise specified.
As of May 10, 2011, Sew-Deluxe has closed. The same owners are now accepting Groupons for the same services at their new business, The DIY Factory.
