What You'll Get
Geocaching has taken off as the latest trend in scavenger hunts. Using your phone's GPS, you can find hundreds of small boxes hidden around the Bay Area, sometimes filled with prizes, always a joy to discover. To learn how to unlock the full potential of your phone (and San Francisco), sign up for Geocache 101, a scavenger hunt for the 21st century. This afternoon adventure will take you all over beautiful Golden Gate Park, searching for little prizes while you acquire the skills to venture out on your own next time. See the event description below for a list of what to bring.
What to bring:
- Walking shoes
- Pen or pencil to write on the logbooks
- Small items (such as stickers or small toys) to leave in geocaches, if you want
- A fully charged cell phone with the Geocache app downloaded
- A power bank if you have it; geocaching sucks up a lot of juice
