What You'll Get
Boot camps apply military concepts to daily life, as do dance parties set to Morse code and tanks converted into school buses. Declassify your abs with today’s Groupon to Sgt. H2O’s Aquatic Boot Camp. This Groupon is valid at the Austin and Round Rock locations. Choose between the following options:
- For $59, you get one month of unlimited aquatic boot-camp classes (a $170 value).
- For $110, you get two months of aquatic boot-camp classes (a $280 value).
At the Austin location, one-hour classes start at 7:15 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays and at 10 a.m. on Saturdays. At the Round Rock location, one-hour classes start at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and at 1:30 p.m. on Saturdays.
Trainer and fitness guru Justin Bradshaw modeled Sgt. H2O’s Aquatic Boot Camp after the rigorous training he received as an Army diver. Each aquatic session tests fitness practitioners of all ability levels with a roulette wheel of moves designed to maximize lung capacity, ignite swimming speed, and tone the entire body. Much like when a cat awaits a bath, extra resistance kicks in with the addition of water, but the pool’s gentle gravity proves easy on the joints.
Exercisers can expect to tackle such tasks as pool sprints, towel swims, treading water with weights, and group exercise drills as well as aquatic-conditioning kicks. Bradshaw’s class equipment list requires students to don workout clothes and tennis shoes over an appropriately rugged swimsuit. Students should also bring their own towel or mat for poolside routines and are recommended to pack optional goggles from home and to grow a set of working fins.
