Professional researcher and storyteller Shannon Scott leads groups through Savannah’s past with specialty tours pertaining to architecture, women’s history, the Revolutionary War, ghosts, and cemeteries. During each two-hour Bonaventure Cemetery tour, the epitaph specialist introduces guests to notable cemetery residents without the aid of a Ouija board—telling stories of musician Johnny Mercer, underground poet Conrad Aiken, photographer Jack Leigh, and silent-film starlet Edythe Chapman. Tours begin at 11 a.m. or 2 p.m. and Shannon’s vivid storytelling and passionate accounts help to preserve the legacies of those peacefully resting while shining light on their respective worldly impacts.

Shannon Scott Tours

As a kid, Shannon Scott wasn’t interested in Disney World; he wanted to vacation in Colonial Williamsburg. He had an unabashed love and voracious appetite for history, preferring the drama of true stories to that of fairytales. Since 1995, he has translated that passion into a viable career sharing the rich history and lore of Savannah.

Shannon Scott does an excellent job sharing the history and stories of Bonaventure! I have already recommended his tour to several of my friends! He sent me a detailed email with directions on where to park and what to wear. Closed toe shoes and bug spray are a must!

This was amazing. Greatest event we went to in Savannah. Part tour, part storytelling, lots of history and mixed with a passion for remembering some if the good, bad, and creepy residents of Bonavenrure cemetery.
