What You'll Get
A strong man wrestles you to the ground to show off; a stronger man boosts your self-esteem and then accidentally breaks three of your ribs with a supportive hug. Learn the tenets of both strength and community with today's Groupon: for $20, you get one month of unlimited boot-camp classes plus two training sessions at Shaping U Personal Fitness in Pelham (a $257 value).
Shaping U's friendly, encouraging trainers will push patrons of any fitness level using a dynamic regimen of ever-changing cardio, strength training, and circuit training. Each class packs a different workout; attendees can expect a boost in strength, stamina, and flexibility as each workout replaces body fat with lean muscle, and doughy rolls with a fully cooked six-pack. To keep their students motivated, a stellar cast of instructors will also provide two semi-private, hour-long training sessions to intimate groups of one to four shape shifters (a $30 value per session). Classes are scheduled throughout the week and take place inside an indoor gym, ensuring no one gets caught in a rainstorm of ravenous squirrels.
Birmingham Magazine named Shaping U Personal Fitness founder and trainer Brad Pugh as a runner up for best personal trainer in the area on their 2010 Best of Bham list, and the business was featured in Birmingham Works magazine. They also have more than 500 fans on Facebook.

About Shaping U Personal Fitness
Brad Pugh has followed a healthy diet and exercise plan his whole life—until a few years ago, that is. Frustrated by the time and energy commitment, he decided to take a break from working out, which led to three years of inactivity and 30 extra pounds. As he huffed and puffed his way back to fitness, he resolved to use this experience as an opportunity to help others get back into shape. In 2000, Brad founded Shaping U Personal Fitness, a gym specializes in small-group exercise programs.
A nationally certified personal trainer, Brad earned local renown when he was named the city’s runner-up personal trainer by Birmingham Magazine. Six days a week, he runs indoor and outdoor boot-camp classes as well as personal-training sessions available on a one-on-one or semiprivate basis. Brad helps his clients modify unhealthy eating habits as well by designing meals based on the 14-day detox plan. Healthy meals centering around lean cuts of meat and high-nutrient vegetables are prepared by a chef and delivered to the home.
