The two courses in the concealed-weapon-training package take between five and six hours total to complete. During the concealed-weapons-permit course, instructors familiarize students with basic firearms safety and range-safety procedures through engaging targets from 3-, 5-, 7-, 10-, and 15-yard distances. They also teach participants about Florida’s handgun-concealment laws in case they decide to apply for a state concealed-weapon permit. Contracting out space at Coon Bottom Gun Club, this training will be held at 1144 Barber Rd. Havana, Florida 32333.

The basic fundamentals of shooting course further refines students’ marksmanship with drills in aiming, stance, grip, and shooting safety. Unlike the permit course, this class is mostly taught at the range, where pupils engage targets and typically fire between 100 and 200 rounds.

The AR-15 and carbine familiarization and fundamentals course is geared toward marksmen with no formal instruction or experience firing rifles or carbines. A combination of classroom and live-fire training covers topics such as nomenclature, disassembly and reassembly, sight alignment, and clearing jams.
