A Chat with Showstoppers Academy, with Missy Miller
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition? Director Missy Miller has over 30 years of expertise in performing and teaching children performing arts. Kids ages 3-18 learn multiple skills used in musical theater in a fun, active, positive class with instruction in singing, acting, dancing and movement.
What's one tip for first-time students that will make them feel like veterans? Everyone is friendly here and you will not be judged or asked to try out. The students work together in a non-competitive environment to put on a great show at the end of the season. Missy will focus on finding material that is not beyond your reach but will still build your skills.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business? Missy Miller brings her vast experience in the field of musical theater and teaching to a new location in North Central San Antonio. Forming an association with the historical Josephine Theater, the Academy performs at the adjacent performing arts theater and other venues.
What do you love most about your job? Seeing children grow in confidence and talent. Musical theater training helps them in many ways, including skills to help them in school like focus, memorization, and life balance.
