A few years ago, I had a truly bad experience with an A/C company that flat-out lied to make a huge sum of money off of a hot, stressed-out, and exhausted woman who just wanted her A/C running again (especially during the Texas summer heat). Since then, to say I harbored a massive distrust of the "industry" is an understatement. So when my A/C started rattling and then shut down about a week ago, that old dread just reared its huge, ugly head. I started scrolling through Groupon, settled on SHR A/C & Heating (I liked the photo in their service ad, and they offered a great deal), and spoke to a nice man named Steven. He was able to come out the very next morning and assured me he'd find and fix the problem for me and not to worry - and I actually believed him! After he examined the unit, he found the source of the problem and explained what happened to cause the shutdown. He showed me photos and said he'd have to order the replacement part from the manufacturer, which he did. We talked about the cost, and I knew he wasn't gouging me or trying to take advantage in any way. He went above and beyond to just do what he said and get my A/C back online. Surprisingly, he was able to get the part that same day, and he came back later that afternoon, installed the part, and I was blissfully cool again within the hour. To say Steven restored my faith in that industry - even so much as in mankind itself, is not an understatement. He (SHR A/C & Heating) seemed like a God-send at a time when people just don't seem to show the best of themselves. What a breath of fresh, cool air to find a company that I would take the time to review and give my most earnest and heartfelt endorsement without hesitation.
