Multiple Grammy-winning violinist Gil Shaham and inventive chamber ensemble The Knights show off their musical chivalry with a Valentine's Day concert featuring the world premiere of Jonathan Leshnoff's Chamber Concerto for Violin and Orchestra. Come early to hear the Baltimore-based composer discuss this new work, which was specially commissioned by the Shriver Hall Concert Series. Shaham, who's scored praise from audiences and critics alike for his warm tone, crystal-clear technique and engaging stage presence joins The Knights, an innovative collective of composers, performers and arrangers, to perform works by Sarasate and French baroque master Jean-Fery Rebel, as well as Beethoven's Symphony No. 3, "Eroica."
There’s a lecture by Mr. Jonathan Palevsky at 4:30pm in the Clipper Room upstairs from the Shriver hall lobby. Jonathan Leshnoff joins Mr. Palevsky to discuss his new Chamber Concerto for Violin and Orchestra.
