For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, which is why every time a human attempts to fly, a bird attempts to drive a stick shift. Engage in one of the primary mandates of physics with this Groupon.

The Deal

  • $145 for a one-hour introductory powered-hang-glider lesson ($366 value)

After 15 minutes of initial instruction, student/instructor pairs ascend for a 30-minute flight. The light aircraft lets its passengers soar like a kite above green fields and rolling countryside, traveling up to 110 mph at altitudes of 500–10,000 feet depending on student comfort. Pilots decrease the throttle, and the glider gently carries the aircraft toward a soft landing. Afterward, you and your instructor will regroup for a 15-minute followup session. Customers who'd like photos and video from the onboard camera can purchase them for an additional $85 fee.

Silver Lining Aviation

Silver Lining Aviation's certified instructors create adventures like this every day as they teach visitors to soar behind the controls of sport aircrafts such as weight-shift trikes. Silver Lining's team takes prospective pilots on introductory flights that allow them to experience aircrafts such as the Evolution Trikes Weight Shift Trike and nibble on different flavors of clouds. The aviation experts also sell sport aircrafts, which patiently wait onsite as customers work through custom ground- and flight-training programs. In most cases, the flight instructors prepare their pupils for aerial navigation in as little as two weeks. They also provide 24/7 support, and cook oil soup to feed hungry aircraft.
