"Wine Tour on the Ranch"
We had a great time on the Pinzar tour. Great wine, excellent snacks, and awesome friends. The best way to travel the vineyard and ranch

"Disabled Vietnam Veteran"
Difficult to access with a wheelchair or limited mobility, but the wine is worth it. They offer tours of the winery at a nominal cost. Good club benefits and the wine is very good.

"worth the drive"
It is 2 miles off the main road and you my wonder if you are going to get there. Stick with it you will enjoy the ride. It is an old stage coach stop and you feel like you have returned to the old west. The wine is good and the people at friendly.

What You'll Get

If grapes could talk, they'd recount their dreams, the first time they got plucked, and the first time they felt victimized by nature's rumor mill—the vine. Taste the tales of the grape with today's Groupon to Six Sigma Ranch in Lower Lake. Choose between the following options:

  • For $40, you get one bottle each of sauvignon blanc, cabernet sauvignon, and a Bordeaux-style cuvée (an $80 value).
  • For $80, you get two bottles each of sauvignon blanc, cabernet sauvignon, and a Bordeaux-style cuvée (a $160 value).

Six Sigma Ranch publishes a catalog of hand-sorted, gently crushed, and award-winning wines. Imbibers can grace their glasses with the bright-eyed and silky-tailed 2008 Michael’s Vineyard sauvignon blanc (a $20 value), awarded 90 points by Wine Enthusiast Magazine, and the spicily oaked 2006 cabernet sauvignon (a $42 value), which earned silver status at the San Francisco Chronicle wine competition last year. These two wines, along with a Bordeaux-style 2007 cuvée pique-nique, exhibiting coquettish red fruit layered with earthbound cabernet franc notes (an $18 value), join forces to create the well-balanced assortment included in today’s Groupon. Shipping is available for an extra charge, but buyers are welcome to pick up their purchase and enjoy a free tasting at the Stage Coach Stop tasting room, where erudite oenologists and sometimes-sippers gather to practice glass harmonica ditties and show off their macramé goblet holsters.

Biodiversity and natural farming are essential to the craftsmanship employed by Six Sigma Ranch in the hands-on production of small lot wines from its four vineyards. Close monitoring of insect populations eliminates the need for insecticide, just as flocks of sheep give the heave-ho to chemical fertilizers, noshing on cover crops that protect and enrich the soil while providing natural fertilizer and dream fodder for insomniac grapes.
