Commonly Asked Questions

Q:

What is the tour fee include in each tour? Do we have to bring extra cash to buy the food we might want to try?

KHAI S.  asked on  Sep 19, 2012

A:

The ticket price includes all tastings, but many of the restaurants serve alcohol or allow for extra purchases, so you can bring funds for that. The food on the tours is enough for a large meal, but if you want to buy some take-home stuff, you can do so. Also, the price doesn't include gratuity to any of our tour guides, so we suggest you bring some cash for that.

More Questions and Answers

Q:

Can I bring my toddler who will be in a stroller? Would I have to get a ticket for her even if she won't be eating any of the food? I don't eat beef, pork, shellfish so are there chicken/turkey/fish or vegetarian options?

Catherine S.  asked on  Sep 22, 2012

A:

Typically toddlers do need to purchase a ticket. A ticket to our tours is not just for eating the food, it's essentially for 'taking up a seat'. You can contact us, though and sometimes exceptions will be made. Yes, Chicken/Turkey/Fish and vegetarian options are easy to do in all but our Delicious Dumpling and New Chinatown food tours.

Q:

The fine print says that the groupon expires on March 20, 2013 but when I print out my voucher it says that the promotional value expires April 17, 2013. Which date is the correct expiration date?

yesenia r.  asked on  Sep 20, 2012

A:

I believe the expiration on the voucher is correct. Groupon has rolling expiration dates now as to not overwhelm business owners as the expiration date approaches - but to confirm 100% that would be a question for Groupon.

Q:

My girlfriend and I aren't totally gluten-free, but try to avoid it....is there a tour that would cater to us?

Elliott L.  asked on  Sep 19, 2012

A:

Gluten Free is a little tough, but there are some tours that we can fairly easily provide alternatives. Those tours are the Downtown LA, Thai Town, and Little Tokyo tours. All others have more limited tastings.

Q:

I work on Saturday & Sunday mornings, what is the latest meeting time on Sundays, and where is the meeting location? I want to be sure I can make it before I purchase the voucher. Thanks

A:

We have some tours that start at 2:30pm and 3:00pm on Sundays. The meeting location depends on which tour you choose to attend, and can be found on our website at www.sixtaste.com/tours

Q:

How much walking is involved?

joyce c.  asked on  Sep 18, 2012

A:

Hi Joyce, It depends which tour you decide to go on. Our Delicious Dumpling tour only spans 2 blocks, and our Downtown spans closer to 12. However, it's over 4 hours and plenty of opportunities to rest in-between at restaurants. This is the order from least to most walking Delicious Dumpling - 2 blocks New Chinatown - 3 blocks Thai Town - 4 blocks Little Tokyo - 4 blocks Hollywood - 5 blocks Santa Monica - 8 blocks Downtown LA - 12 blocks
