- Neuromodulators such as Dysport or Nuceiva can be used for treatment, injected directly into muscles of the head & face causing soreness or discomfort. One side is typically larger or more painful, and the larger side will often receive 60-65% of the total dose depending on the degree of asymmetry. Obviously, larger muscles require a greater number of units to achieve the same effective dose.
- All patients will be assessed and receive consultation before diagnosis. Most patients receiving treatment have minimal discomfort, without need for anaesthetic cream.
- Neuromodulator injections help to relieve pain, impaired function, and help limit excess muscle growth. .
- By treating affected muscles, pain is reduced, and the jawline profile can soften into a slimmer shape, by reducing the size of prominent masseter muscles.
