About Skunk Train
Originally built in 1885 to transport logs, nowadays the Skunk Train meanders through the redwoods into the heart of the Noyo River canyon with passengers on board. Its unique name originated from the 1920s' motorcars. With their gasoline-powered engines, they quickly became well-known among the locals for announcing their arrival with a rather distinctive odor. And long before anyone could see them. Today the smell is gone, but the nickname remained. Skunk Train invites its passengers to take a step back in time. Guests can try out the two-person railbikes on a one-hour roundtrip along the Pudding Creek Estuary, participate in a festive journey onboard the Magical Christmas Train, or enjoy the view from Pudding Creek Express, carrying its passengers on the first tracks ever laid down by the California Western Railroad.
