After 30 minutes of classroom instruction, a Cessna 210 aircraft elevates divers and their experienced instructors to a comfortable altitude above Moab's scenic terrain. Harnessed together, they jump from the aircraft, freefall for approximately 35 seconds, and make optional eagle cries. After the canopy opens, skydivers enjoy a seven-minute glide back to earth, taking in bird's-eye views of rivers and rock formations below.
Skydive Lake Powell/Canyonlands
Even after more than 18,000 jumps, owner and USPA-certified instructor Paul Gray enjoys every free fall. With a focus on safety, Paul and his team help introduce new people to the sport during tandem jumps, soaring high above Moab and Lake Powell areas' breathtaking views. Reddish rock formations, the buttes of Arches National Park or the spectacular Glen Canyon dam come into view as instructors and pupils jump from a specially equipped Cessna 210 aircraft. While freefalling, Paul and his team can capture high-definition videos and pictures for divers to show to their friends or use to impress pet birds.
