America has always been the most extreme country, from the Boston Tea Punchings to having the first man swear on the moon. We hold this shredding guitar solo to be self-evident with this Groupon.
$125 for 10,000-Foot Tandem Skydive ($209 Value)
Adventurers dive harnessed to a licensed instructor by a state-of-the-art Sigma Tandem Rig during the tandem skydive. After jumping out of the plane, participants experience one minute of free fall, then release the parachute to enjoy a five- to seven-minute glide over Southern California. A preliminary instructional class on skydiving regulations prepares jumpers for their dives, and after landing, participants take home a keepsake First Jump Certificate. Jumps are available at 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. daily; for alternate times, patrons must upgrade to a 13,000-foot jump for an additional $39.
Skydive San Diego
To the uninitiated, the dusty, mountainous expanse just north of the Mexico border might sound like a war-torn battleground—it has borne the boots of soldiers in the US Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps. However, the troops simply visited to practice plane evacuations at Skydive San Diego, whose private, skydiving-only airport is buffeted by steady winds and outfitted with state-of-the-art Cessna and DeHavilland jump planes.
Civilians can jump there too, drinking in views of the Pacific before leaping out of an aircraft for solo jumps or tandem dives, in which a USPA-certified instructor is securely attached to the jumper with professional harnesses and a powerful hug. With 8,000 square feet of padded packing area, the full-service facility not only houses an airport but also a deck for barbecuing post-jump feasts.

“This was my first time sky diving and I wasn't really sure what to expect. Everyone at Sky Dive San Diego was super friendly which made me feel more comfortable about jumping out of a plane. Tigger was my instructor and he was phenomenal the entire time- he has 18 years of jumping experience. He explained everything as it was happening and was really personable. it was an amazing experience and as soon as I landed I wanted to do it again. The view of the mountains, the lake, and the city was really stunning. It felt like time stood still for just a moment so I could take it all in. Make sure you have an ID with you, they will weigh you if you are over 200 pounds just to make sure that you are under 230 just to keep everyone safe. There is a brief training where someone will just explain how everything works (5-10 minutes), you have your harness put on, then get to watch people land safely for 20-30 minutes which makes you feel better, then meet your instructor, board the plane, and it takes off before you know it. The glide down after the parachute is pulled is the best part. Highly recommend this place!! ”
