$125 for a Static-Line Dive with a First-Jump Course ($209 Value)

Instructors brief students in a four- to five-hour ground-school course, covering safety and equipment before flying them up to 3,000 feet in a small, single-engine Cessna plane for a static-line jump. Each student straps into a parachute—which is attached to the plane via a flexible static line—and performs a poised exit jump from the plane’s side strut. After the student falls for up to three seconds, the attached parachute deploys a canopy. Classes take place Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Skydive! Toledo

Divers' clothing flaps in the wind as they soar toward a patchwork of meadows, with forests spreading out in all directions and mountains looming on the horizon. Divers can look out over seven volcanoes including looking directly into the crater of Mt. St. Helens, the famous volcano of 1980. Mt. Rainier and Mt. Adams are also in view. But before these jumps, Skydive! Toledo's instructors impart the necessary safety measures, touching on how to ensure a parachute has been maintained, how to land, and how to use a guidebook to ask birds for directions. After briefing visitors on the basics, expert jumpers help them learn the physics of flight firsthand as they plummet towards Earth at up to 120 miles per hour.

Skydive Toledo also offers novice jumpers the necessary instruction to achieve their skydiving license through the AFF program. This seven-jump instructional program will have you freefalling on your own on your first jump.
